5G Connectivity on Cisco Viptela SDWAN
5G Connectivity on Cisco Viptela SDWAN
Today we are going to discuss on the 5G connectivity on Cisco Viptela SDWAN vEdge/cEdge router.
As we have Orbi 5G netgear device with us, we are going to connect it with the Cisco Viptela vEdge as a biz internet circuit. The best way to connect is to take the static IP from the service provider and configure that configurations on to your Orbi 5G netgear device.

Why we are taking Static Public IP from the service provider?
It is important to understand, as if you have your SDWAN controllers in the cloud and you want vEdge/cEdge needs to connect to the controllers via biz internet you need public IP but if somehow 5G router rebooted or disconnected your public IP changes every time and you need to put that Public IP on to your Gateway firewall to allow communication with in your network, so the solution is to take the static public IP, configured on Orbi 5G router and allow on to your firewall.
If Orbi 5G netgear device reboot or disconnected and came back you will be aligned with the same IP address whatever you configured on the Orbi as Static IP.
Make sure you need to configure the below details from the service provider in order to configure the static public IP on the Orbi Netgear 5G router. Below is just an reference, The main thing is here is APN.
Username: xxx@admin.thenetworkdna.com
Password: xxxxxx
APN: east.thenetworkdna.com
Static Public IP: X.X.X.X
Below is the configuration on the interface of the vEdge device using TLOC as biz internet with the private IP as Nat will be done on the WAN interface of the Orbi Netgear 5G router and if you assigned an static IP already then you can have that public IP always for your biz internet circuit.

Hope you are now clear on how to configure the Netgear Orbi 5G router on Viptela vEdge sdwan using biz internet circuit.
