Cisco SDWAN vEdge Devices

SD-WAN so called Software Defined WAN solution, where control plane or management plane is separated from the physical devices. In this article we will talk about all the vEdge devices, capacity of the devices and comparison between all the vEdge models.

vEdge : An Edge platform (vEdge) built for wide ranging applications– ranging from homes, branches, data centers to virtualized environments like NFV and Cloud.

vEdge 100 : A very small model vEdge device, there are three models in vEdge 100 and these models are vEdge 100b, vEdge 100m, vEdge 100wm models. 

The vEdge 100 router delivers highly secure site-to-site data connectivity to small business and home offices (SOHO)

vEdge 1000: A Small model which 8X1G SFP slot and generally used for the small offices. Below is the image for vEdge 1000 devices.

The vEdge 1000 router delivers highly secure site-to-site data connectivity to large enterprises.

vEdge 2000: A large model which has 2x PIM: 2x10GE SFP or 8x1G SFP* slots and generally used for the mid size or large offices for the Viptela SDWAN solution.

vEdge 5000: A Large model which has NIM x 8 1GE SFP, NIM 8 1GE RJ45, NIM 4 10GE SFP and generally used for the large/DC site offices for the Viptela SDWAN solution. 

The vEdge 5000 router delivers highly secure site-to-site data connectivity to large enterprises, offers interface modularity
