Veeam Backup & Replication for Veeam Agent Management

It is possible to automate the management of Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows running on multiple computes in your infrastructure with Veeam Backup & Replication.

Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows can be deployed on remote Windows computers, Veeam Agent backup jobs can be configured, and you can also manage the backup data. So make sure you know that Veeam Backup & Replication 9.5 is required in order to use Veeam Agent management functionality.

Let's talk about the ports required of Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows

Veeam Agent Computer <----> Veeam Agent Computer:
Port used is TCP port 6183 and TCP port 9395. It is important to note that Veeam Agent components and Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows service communicate using Veeam Agent components locally on the Veeam Agent computer.

Veeam Agent Computer <----> Veeam Backup Server
Port used is TCP port 10001 and it is a default port. Veeam Agent transfers data directly between the backup repository and the Veeam Agent computer, bypassing Veeam backup servers.

Veeam Agent Computer <----> Veeam Update Notification Server:
Port used is TCP port 443. Veeam Update Notification Server informs users about available updates using port 80.

Veeam Agent Computer <----> backup repository linux Server:
TCP port 22 for control channel from the Veeam Agent computer to the target Linux host and TCP port 2500 to 5000 for data transmission channels.

Veeam Agent Computer <----> backup repository Windows Server:
TCP port range 1025 to 5000 for windows 2003 and TCP port 49152-65535 for windows 2008 and above.  If you talk about the data transmission channels the ports are TCP port 2500 to 5000

Veeam Agent Computer <----> Gateway Microsoft Windows server:
TCP/UDP ports 135, 137 to 139, 445.

Veeam Agent Computer <----> Shared folder CIFS:
TCP/UDP ports 135, 137 to 139, 445. An SMB (CIFS) port is used to transmit data from the Veeam Agent computer to the target. These ports must be opened on the gateway Microsoft Windows server if a CIFS (SMB) share is selected as a backup repository and a Microsoft Windows server is selected as a gateway server.

Veeam Agent Computer <----> Cloud gateway:
With TCP port 6180, The Veeam Cloud Connect repository is accessed through the Veeam Agent cloud gateway.

Veeam Agent Computer <----> Certificate Revocation Lists:
With TCP port 80 or 443, Veeam Agent computer gets access to CRLs
