Cisco Introduces Cisco Secure Firewall Series 6100
Cisco introduced new Cisco Secure firewall series 6100 into their portfolio. The Cisco Secure Firewall 6100 can be deployed as the ultra-high-end firewall series delivering efficiency, optimized for high-performance data center and telecom mobility infrastructure use cases. These firewalls are 2RU form factor and modular appliance-based scaling, avoiding costly chassis upgrades or inefficient HA pairs.
AI is important factor, so Cisco Secure Firewall series 6100 come up with AI-driven Encrypted Visibility Engine (EVE) for threat-aware selective decryption with hardware crypto offload to inspect encrypted flows at scale. This one is a centrally managed firewall through Cisco Security Cloud Control unifies security across data center, campus and branch firewalls, Hypershield, Secure Workload, and smart switches.
Cisco Secure Firewall 6100 Series is a part of a Hybrid Mesh Firewall (HMF) is a unified security platform that provides consistent and centralized security management across a distributed network, including on-premises, cloud, and remote work environments.
It leverages a combination of hardware, virtual, and cloud-based firewalls, all managed from a single, unified console, to ensure consistent policy enforcement and threat protection.
What's Special in Cisco Secure Firewall 6100
Cisco concentrate on Layer 7 threat performance with our 6100 series, which is intended for the ultra-high-end market. Cisco's 6100 offers 400 Gbps of Layer 7 performance in a tiny two-rack-unit (RU) configuration, which is more efficient than a competitor's five-rack unit appliance that only manages 180 Gbps. Unmatched scalability is made possible by Cisco's novel active-active and N+1 clustering architecture.
Customers can reach over 4 Tbps of performance by clustering up to 16 Cisco 6100 units, which is significantly faster than our competitor's 1.4 Tbps appliance. Cisco uses less space, power, and cooling while delivering improved performance and cost efficiency with just eight clustered units. Organizations can increase gradually without having to completely redesign their infrastructure thanks to this modular strategy.
Form Factors
There are two different form factors in Cisco Secure Firewall 6100 series and these are Cisco Secure firewall 6160 & 6170 models.
These are orderable after October 2025 and will be soon available on the portal for purchase. There is a notification of Cisco Secure firewall on the cisco website as well. You can check that on the below link
